Tony Robbins is one of the most well-known motivational speakers in the area of life out there today. Thousands of people spend thousands of dollars to be inspired by him every year. So what is it that draws people to him in such large numbers?
Tony meets people where they are, but then goes the extra step to motivate them to do better and help them believe that they can. Here are 10 inspirational quotes from Tony on the subject of making decisions and how it affects your life.
10 Inspirational Tony Robbins Quotes on Making Decisions
1.) “Decision is the ultimate power.”
Making a decision puts you in control. When you allow others to make decisions for you, you lose that control. You are the author of your own story. Don’t let others steal your pen.
2.) “It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.”
With every decision we make, good or bad, we map out a certain path. When you make a decision, it not only affects your life, but may affect others as well – sometimes, for generations to come.
As you are faced with a decision to make, take a moment and think about how it will affect your future. It is in that moment that ONE element of your destiny is shaped.
3.) “Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach.”
My grandmother used to say there is more than one way to skin a cat. When you make a decision, stick with it and never give up. However, be open to the many ways to reach your end goal. 18 years ago, I made the decision to pay off my $200,000 in debt and live a life of financial freedom.
I developed a plan; but as time went along, things happened. I never gave up on my goal though. I stayed committed to my decision. But sometimes, my plan needed tweaking. If I hadn’t stayed flexible in my approach, I would never have become debt-free.
4.) “We can change our lives. We can do, have and be exactly what we wish.”
As I stated before, you are the author of your own story. If you want to see change in your life, it’s up to you. If you have dreams and goals, it is up to YOU to make it happen. Taking responsibility for your life is the best choice you can make.
Have you ever looked at a millionaire and wanted to be just like them? Have you ever looked at the best in your career and thought the same? They didn’t get to where they are by wishing. They got to where they are by choices, decisions, and plenty of action.
Life is awesome because you get to decide what yours looks like. You are an author – now go write a bestseller.
5.) “Knowing is not enough. You must take action.”
We all know that being debt-free is the best. But we won’t get there without action. We all know that having a happy marriage is the best, but you won’t get there without action. Maya Angelou once said that “when we know better, we do better.”
This isn’t always the case. It is more like: when we know better, we should do better. But just like Tony says, knowing isn’t enough – action must be taken.
6.) “Whatever happens, take responsibility.”
This is the key to life. Once you take responsibility for your decisions (both good and bad) you can learn from them and move forward. But as long as you are always blaming someone else, or are looking to someone else to fix your life, nothing will ever change.
Look in the mirror – you are the only person responsible. It would have been so easy for me to blame others for my $200,000 worth of debt. But it wasn’t until I took responsibility that something changed.
It wasn’t the banks fault, or my parents, or my ex-husband, or my bosses’ fault. It was mine. Once I accepted that, everything changed for the better.
7.) “You always succeed at producing a result.”
Everything you do and every choice you make has a result – good or bad. We are all great successes at producing results. But are you being successful at producing the results you want? It’s all about the decisions you make.
8.) “For changes to be of any true value, they’ve got to be lasting consistent.”
True change isn’t just doing something well once and then going back to the old way. Change needs to be a lasting thing. When I was on my debt-free journey, there were many changes that I needed to make – in my habits and in my attitude.
In order for my journey to be successful, those changes had to be everlasting – not just in the moment. Had they not been lasting, I would have eventually gone right back to where I was. You need to not only decide to change once, but you need to decide every day to continue with the change.
9.) “A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.”
All of us in debt decide all the time that we want to get out. But without continuous action, it won’t happen. A lot of people want to change careers, but look up 10 years later, still in the same place. It is because their decision had NO action.
You need to take your decisions out of your head and put them into action.
10.) “Live with passion.”
This says it all. Without passion, there is no success. When you are passionate about your decisions, you give them 110 percent of your attention. Nothing gets in your way. Find your passion today in every area of your life and live it!
Did these Tony Robbins quotes give you some insights on decision-making?
Decisions are made everyday – some big and some small. Even indecision is a decision – you are deciding NOT to decide. Think about your decisions and what will follow. Then take the actions necessary to follow through and make them successful.
When a decision goes bad, take responsibility, learn from it, and move on. Live your life with passion. Go about everyday living your authentic life.
