When you look in the mirror, who do you see? If you could have an outer body experience that will show you who you really are, would you? I know these questions may sound cliché but when compared to the way you’re living your life right now, can you answer them? People often forget about the realness of true satisfaction and happiness. Are you really happy with your life right now? Do you concern yourself with what people say or think about you?
I could ask you question after question but the fact of the matter is this; if you don’t know who you really are beneath flesh view, then how will you be able to answer any of the questions that I just gave you? A puzzler isn’t it.
I have found, from personal experience, that there are three guaranteed ways that you can boost your self-esteem. Are you ready? Are you sure? Okay, here they are:
1. Don’t worry about what people say or think about you.
You are not living their life. You’re living your own life. But if you involve yourself with people that have low self-esteem and don’t realize it, you’ll become a friend of discernment that’s hard to break away from. Every chance you get, look in a mirror. Tell yourself that I am living my own life and whatever anyone thinks or says about me don’t matter.
At the end of the day, I will be successful at whatever I put my mind to doing. Keep that reminder in your head, say it out loud in front of people and continue to do what you were doing. People are going to look at you strange. Let them. You are not perfect and neither are they. So how can they tell you that you’re crazy? Don’t sound right do it?
2. Don’t lie to yourself.
You are who you are. Embrace it. Learn it. Love it. The difference between a person that is confident and a person that hides away in the crowd is self-esteem. The confident person knows that they are who they are. They know that they can do anything they put their minds to doing. They are not afraid of confrontation nor rejection. Their spirit is felt when they get near people. They don’t worry about what people think or say about them. They are who they are and no one can tell them any different.
The person that hides behind the crowd is a person that likes to go with the flow out of plain sight. They rely on what people think of them and try to tailor those comments or looks. They try and figure out what they can do to earn people’s friendship and/or respect. What kind of self-esteem do you think these types of people have? I’ll let you answer that one.
3. Always do your best at whatever you do no matter what it is.
When people see that you are doing your best, they give you ‘props’ and ‘good jobs’. That sets in a persons mindset and makes them into a believer; a believer of confidence. Confidence is the artery of self-esteem. If your confidence level is low, what level do you think your self-esteem will fall? Exactly, way down there, right.
When you do the best at everything you do, you’ll find that not only will your confidence level rise, but also your self-esteem level as well. People will look at you and know that you are who you are (not that it matters). You’ll live your life for you and no one else. You vibrancy will shine and the pep in your step will feel wonderful.
There is one important aspect about the three ways of boosting your confidence; you have to do it. Don’t procrastinate and say, “well, I’ll start Monday since it’s the beginning of the week”. Do it now. Self-esteem is of the mind and soul. You craft your mind from the eternals of your soul.
Get you a notebook and write down how you can beat the serpents of low self-esteem. Everyday write down one more way that you raise your self’-esteem? The problem is not with other people, it’s with you. Fix it. You can do it!
