I have a problem with this. As, I have always been successful at whatever I do but am not getting anywhere. I make only 36k a year, wife makes 60k live n CA… We still can’t even afford to buy a house. My brother and sister have it all. They even got awesome jobs starting at awesome pay without exp. Why can’t I be like that and support my family to giving them the life they want and deserve? I could go on and am about ready to give up as I am 40yrs old. Just doesn’t seem right. I am thankful for what I have though. I just don’t get there luck while I am a very hard worker but not getting anywhere.

Awesome article Eric… Speaks right to me. As a twin it sometimes feels like I’ve got the comparison thing x10!! After saying f*ck it and releasing my first solo recording project in 2014, this year I’m realizing another dream by launching my first podcast! It’s called Ignite Intimacy and it’s been a lot of work, and it’s slow going but people are tuning in and loving it! I’m grateful for all of your powerful reminders. Especially the one about not focusing on someone else’s personal best but our own as the benchmark. Brilliant! Give thanks and keep going!

This article has hit me just at the right time, i was actually sobbing at what’s going on in my life, I’m worthy 1o build 1000 schools across the world in next 10 years and impart quality education at affordable cost, build leaders out of the students and lay the process of “Vausdhaiva Kutumbham” (World is one BIG FAMILY). This has motivated to pursue my dream of educating lakhs & lakhs of children of all races, religions, countries across the world. YES I’m DOING IT….Thank you so much

When you’re in the trenches feverishly pursuing the dream it’s so easy to deny oneself the much needed pause to stop and smell the proverbial roses. Eric, thanks for taking time away from your busy schedule to offer a comforting pasture for self reflection, reorientation, and motivation. I always try to surround myself with people smarter than me so I can learn. Frankly, if I’m the smartest guy in the room, then I’m in the wrong place.

Great article Eric! I have always been a believer in supporting and motivating each other. We can learn and gain inspiration from people who are more successful, and we can mentor those who are still learning. Life is more enjoyable that way.
