Awesome Ways To Painlessly Increase Your Confidence

Confident people are often promoted over their more competent peers according to a study done by the University of California (UC) Berkley’s Haas School of Business. The study also found that confident people (those who are subtle in their confidence, not obnoxious) are considered the most beloved by their peers. Finally, the study found that confident people have the highest social status in their group. With this in mind, you should strive to increase your confidence. Here are three ways to make it happen.

1. Get Physical

Working out is the quickest way to build confidence. When you exercise, your body releases chemicals known as endorphins. Endorphins create a sense of euphoria and are known to increase confidence. Self-confidence increases when you actively pursue better health. You define yourself as a person of action. The change in your physical shape will inspire confidence, as well.

2. Increase Your Competence

Learning a new skill or honing an existing skill will increase your confidence. When you become more competent, you become more confident. Learning something new, especially when it isn’t required, increases your belief in your abilities. If there is an area of your life where you feel inadequate, start there.

3. Dress for Success

Confidence is often driven by how we feel about our appearance. Whether it be designer clothes or trendy styles, how we dress says a lot about us to other people. Looks are not everything, but the clothes we wear lead to the first impressions we make with others. Each of us has a style that brings us confidence. Wear more of that style and your confidence will grow.

Find Your Sweet Spot

Each of us has actions that increase our confidence. Think back on times when your confidence was soaring. What positive habits were you practicing? How did you spend your time? What did you concentrate on that gave you confidence? Focus on those areas and your confidence will grow.
